Jewels for passion,
Jewelry beyond trends.
It all started in December 1979 when silver made a big come-back in jewellery design; new styles appeared on a daily basis: from quality ethinic to modern and shiny. People seemed to go wild in their frantic search for innovative designs for earrings, rings, bracelets, pendants: a new enthusiasm had suddenly been ignited.
This enthusiasm was contagious, we just had to participate, and so we realised that designing and producing jewellery could be our mode of communication, like writing novels, making music, singing or painting might be for others.
However, silver on its own was too restrictive, we felt the need to include different textures and colours, and so it happened that, walking along the beach on the wonderful Etruscan coast, our initial inspiration arrived directly from nature. Those small pebbles, smoothed and rounded by the waves were irrestistibly fascinating.. they told of the passage of time, of life itself and were precious in their own way. The idea of making them into jewellery was spontaneous and ingenious, setting them in silver, creating colour themes in varying shades for bracelets, pendants, rings...
We had become the pebble people ... as our customers were becoming too.
So, armed with the courage of strong self-belief, we entered the scene, exhibiting at major fairs in Italy and abroad. It was amazing to observe the surpise of those looking at the display cases, seemingly indicating approval, albeit with some amusement, of the value and dignity we had bestowed upon seaside pebbles, a homage to nature, which they would then identify with by buying our jewellery to sell in their shops. Thus an immediate and special bond was formed between us and our clients. It was their ‘likes’ and their ‘shares’ that led us into a deeper understanding, to an unexpected extent.
The rest is easy to imagine: this initial success, the all round approval we’d received, gave us huge confidence in directing our creativity towards some of the many objects to be found in nature: pearls, corals, shells, mother-of-pearl etc. Our ‘language’ became richer, our jewellery more precious. New spaces emerged in our creativity. We continued to surprise our customers: our imagination, the creation of individual pieces, spoke to and won over people of different ages and different nationalities.
Then our palette began to seem too limited and so we introduced natural, semi-precious stones .. we listened to the buzz around us and finally our designs evolved into the collections which we produce today and, in fact, we have never ceased our constant search for the highest quality with the assistance of expert and highly motivated silversmiths.
We believe that our creativity and research skills may be largely due to our good fortune in having been born and raised in Florence, the city which has inevitably nourished us with beauty, balance and the harmony which we find on a daily basis in each stone we tread on, in every street or square, in the palaces and the beautiful hills which surround us, in the gardens designed by visionary architects and the art of some of the greatest European masters. We have learnt that art and culture transmit themselves unconsciously and become something concrete within us, we inherit them instinctively without being aware. The various stimuli to creativity are constant.
Our line made of Murano glass with internal gold leaf, was born from another love shared by all of us in our small family firm: that love for Venice, its beauty, its unique magic. The mysterious glass that has been produced there since time eternal, in the most fantastic colours. How could we resist using this material to produce jewellery, set in silver by hand, with the most intriguing colour themes.
One thing is certain: it is undoubtedly thanks to our customers that this line has become so successful and well-received all over the world.
Over the years we have also had an ongoing presence at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, the International Institute of Chicago and the Beyeler of Basel with the Disegni di Luce collection.
To surprise, to seduce, to enter people’s dreams,
but, above all, to create timeless jewellery, jewellery beyond trends, jewellery which is easy to relate to whenever and wherever, today or tomorrow.
Ours are pieces that breathe the moment of history in which we live, reflecting what is happening around us, but they also have a life of their own capturing our needs, our fears, the hopes of each of us.
Our intention is to suggest emotions, our wish is to listen and interpret, to intuit and share. In our view communication implies a meeting of minds.
Each person is unique and it is important for us to reach the individual. We enjoy taking the person, who is searching for themself, by the hand.
We like to think that a piece of jewellery is a winner when it becomes the words, the music, the poetry of the person who chooses it, an expression of their personality.
If there is a meeting of minds, if we are successful, then we are winners too.
